The SAD Award
The Society Of Aircraft Demolishers (Aircraftus Fragmentus)
was created in 1980 by r/c club members in the USA.
The Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms
Everyone has the right
to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived
thereof, in particular THE RIGHT TO CRASH A MODEL AIRCRAFT AT ANY TIME,
whether due to natural causes, positive will or negative ability.
The SAD committee followed each aircraft crash of the season
to see which member was a likely candidate for the SAD award.
This year the SAD award went to a very experienced pilot. He
has many years of full size and r/c model experience and he is also the clubs
chief instructor.
Congratulations JOHN RAWLIN.
On the day in question there were 4 aircraft in the air. John
Rawlins, Paul Molnar, Nathan Peattie and someone else that I can't remember.
Anyways John was flying a Great Planes Viper 500 when he went DEAD STICK! John
lined up for the approach and then out of no where came this P-40 Warthog to
shoot down this enemy viper 500 aircraft. Needless to say the two aircraft
collide in a spectacular mid-air crash leaving the viper 500 in total shambles
and the P-40 with slight damage to the covering under the right wing.
